"Sally: The Most Evil Serial Killer In America"

Netflix released a new crime documentary series called "Killer Sally," which is based on the death of Ryan McNeil, a bodybuilder killed by his wife, a fellow bodybuilder.

Sally McNeil was born in Pennsylvania in 1960. She lived in a hostile environment where domestic violence occurred often. Nevertheless, she attended East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania, where she learned swimming and running as athletic endeavors.

To raise money, she dropped out of college and joined the Marine Corps; like her brother and uncle, she did that for economic reasons.

When she was being abused by his first husband, she started bodybuilding. She met him in the Marine Corps.

Sally McNeil or Killer Sally competed in her first event being titled "Armed Forces Bodybuilding Championship" in 1987. There she met Ray McNeil. They started dating and eventually married, moving to California. Sally had the impression of "Lust at first sight" , so she embarked on "Muscle worship" , which paid off financially.

Soon, Ray also left the Corp. Afterward, he began physically abusing her. This pushed Sally to the edge. On the day of Valentine's Day, Sally killed him in self defense. She shot him with a shotgun on his head and abdomen. Sally called 911 to inform that she had killed her husband as he was beating her up.

Her trial gave rise to narratives emphasizing her as a "bully," even though the investigation showed it was a "roid rage' killing. In 1996, she was convicted and sent to California Women's Facility. Sally was released on parole in 2020 and resides in Northern California today.
