Brazil’s Colonel Jair Bolsonaro silent as bullets fly during presidential race

More than a day after Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva was proclaimed the winner of Brazil 's 2022 presidential election, incumbent Jair Bolsonaro has yet to publicly acknowledge his defeat.

Bolsonaro and his affiliates made unfounded claims about electoral fraud and aberrant press treatment.

Lula da Silva told his supporters anywhere in the world that he would've called and accepted blame by now, though he was reprehensible about the transfer of power.

Electoral Court President Alexandre de Moraes personally called Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and Jair Bolsonaro to personally congratulate them and inform them of the Court's verdict on Sunday.

In similar style, Brazilian Senate President Rodrigo Pacheco and Chamber of Deputies President Arthur Lira have publicly congratulated Lula da Silva and his supporters.

A number of protesters have expressed their surprise with the results of the election results.

A President who prevailed in the ballot box placed another candidate ahead, and we opposed that, said Bolsonaro supporter Luis Valejo.
